Julie's Pledge Page

Dear Family and Friends,

This summer I will be participating in a very special event in the fight against breast cancer.

I am walking in honor of two brave and beautiful women who have battled this life-threatening disease: Rose Lovalvo, my wonderful aunt and Juline Schmitz, a cherished family friend.

I have agreed to raise $2000 by June 14, 2002. And I will need your help in order to make this goal.

According to the American Cancer Society, this year alone over 182,000 people in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 40,000 will die. My Aunt Rose is one of the lucky ones and has been in remission for almost 5 years. However, my dear friend Juline was not so fortunate. And after 2 years of battling this terrible disease, she passed away this March.

That is why I am walking so far and willing to take 3 days of precious time to do it. I want to make a bold statement about breast cancer. I want to do something meaningful for those who have suffered the trials of breast cancer. I want to give support to the continuous progress of breast cancer research with a hope for all the thousands of people who have not yet been diagnosed. And most importantly, I want to pay tribute to Aunt Rose and Juline, two women I love, in a fight I hope I will never know anything about. I hope that you will share with me by supporting my fundraising efforts.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Love and best wishes,

Julie Parravano Grabscheid
